I enjoyed this book very much.If 10 percent of anglers catch 80 percent of the trout then on the Raven/Staufer Creek perhaps 3 percent of anglers catch 90percent of the trout caught. The .book describes extremely well the joys and frustrations of fishing this gem of a creek in Alberta.I tried to fish it when we lived in Edmonton. and know the ranch mentioned and the area It all rings true and took me back there. This is an intimate book about one angler's season on a very humbling Alberta trout stream. Well worth the time.
A fabulous read for anyone, but especially so for those that have a deep connection with moving waters and the creatures that live there. The author has a real talent for honest, descriptive language that keeps the reader engaged. I could not put this book down.
The author tries to get his reader involved in every aspect of his life. Not too interested in hearing about the habits of his live in girl friend. Stick to fly fishing and don't try to convince us that you are the next .......
